3M Military Earplug Lawsuits in West Virginia

3M earplugs have been used by the military between 2003 and 2015 and the lawsuits against 3M earplugs claim that they are ineffective as they do not hold tight in the ears of the users. As a result, the army veterans are losing hearing abilities among other difficulties.

These devices are known to be the main reason for the hearing loss of our clients. If you have been using 3M Combat Arms Earplugs Version 2 and right now you are having difficulty in hearing, then our West Virginia 3M earplugs lawyer is here to help you. Things to Know About 3M Earplugs Lawsuits

In July 2018, the U. S. Department of Justice announced that 3M Corp. has agreed for paying $9.1 for the whistleblower claim where 3M was accused of selling and marketing the earplugs knowing that they were defective. The claim said that the company marketed the defective earplugs even after knowing that the cable was too small to be inserted in the ears.

The earplugs are dual-ended earplugs that could be used either as traditional earplugs or into open position after being flipped so that it will attenuate the huge sounds of explosion as well as let the other quieter sounds pass in. If the plugs are shorter, then they will gradually loosen in the ear and will fail completely to reduce the noise and save the hearing ability for the wearer.

The U. S. Department of Justice alleged the Aero Technologies, the former makers of the 3M plugs as well as the employees who joined 3M after this company had taken over the Aero, knew about this design problem from the time of testing the earplugs.

Another glaring fact is that 3M has stopped other many reputed companies to supply the earplugs including Moldex-Metric’s BattlePlugs which are currently gets purchased by the military now. The lawsuit has ended with a favorable decision for Moldex.

In April 2019, an MDL has been established for the 3M Combat Arms Earplugs in the federal court of Florida. We are one of the many law firms currently helping clients nationwide with the damage that 3M caused.

Military Hearing Injuries

Around 60% of military personnel reported a hearing loss after they left the service. Till 2014, more than 933,000 veterans received disability compensation due to their hearing loss. And 1.3 million received compensation for tinnitus (popularly known as ringing in the ears).

When a person is exposed to the sound of a huge explosion, or long-term exposure like gunfire or engine room sound, or aircraft deck sound, it can result in hearing loss and tinnitus.

"I had hired Mr Logue a few years ago for my gf at the time for charges she had gotten before i had met her for prostitution. Big mistake to date her and pay for her lawyer as we didn’t work out but Mr Logue far exceeded expectations. He got nearly all charges in 2 separate cases dropped for her. My mistake to hire him for her but her blessing. I know she didn’t thank you enough so allow me to for her. Very highly recommend Mr. Logue.” A.C.

I was arrested on a felony 3 charge looking at at least up to 2 years in prison. County District Attorney didn't want to negotiate. After a lot of hard work, Sean was able to plead the case all the way down to just 90 days jail with a work release. Better deal than I realistically could have hoped for. Sean and his team worked hard for me. They're the best! Anonymous

After the salesmen told me my gun application "wouldn't be a problem," I was charged with an illegal attempt to posses a firearm. Sean Logue has a good relationship with the DA, but still pushed them to have a trial and I was found not guilty of the felony charge. Sean is a tough and smart lawyer who knows his way around the courtrooms. Anonymous
