Things to Know About Philips CPAP Lawsuits

On June 14, 2021, Philips has issued a voluntary recall of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure or CPAP machine and Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure or Bi-Pap and mechanical ventilator devices. The manufacturing company has identified that the polyester-based polyurethane used for these machines can cause people to inhale and ingest toxic gas and even carcinogen substances.

According to reports and testing, Philips has determined that the component can degrade into particles that enter the device’s air pathway. Thus the user will ingest it. Also, the foam might off-gas harmful chemicals.

The cases are files as the company in their CPAP user manual for the first generation DreamStation product family, which has the most number of defective devices, has failed to warn the users of the potential risk of using the machine.

Possible Side Effects and Injuries

Philips, the manufacturing company, has reported a series of possible problems and injuries that can happen due to the foam degradation in the CPAP machine and Bi-level PAP devices. If you or your loved one have/has been using these devices, the following problems can happen:

  • Possible effects of ingesting carcinogen
  • Effects of inhaling toxic gas
  • Issues with respiration

Off gassing can also pose some serious risks including:

  • Possible effects of a carcinogen or cancer detection
  • Toxic effects
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Headaches
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Irritation in eye, skin and respiratory tract

I had hired Mr. Logue a few years ago for my gf at the time for charges she had gotten before I had met her, for prostitution. Big mistake to date her and pay for her lawyer as we didn’t work out but Mr. Logue far exceeded expectations. He got nearly all charges in 2 separate cases dropped for her...

I was arrested on a felony 3 charge looking at at least up to 2 years in prison. County District Attorney didn't want to negotiate. After a lot of hard work, Sean was able to plead the case all the way down to just 90 days jail with a work release. Better deal than I realistically could have hoped...

Mr. Logue took our son’s cases on very short notice (the first lawyer we hired wasn’t getting anywhere with either of the prosecutors and had actually turned one of the cases over to the court-appointed attorney). We hired Mr. Logue to go to trial if needed, but he worked with both prosecutors and...
